Rick Brandl is the Senior Director of Service Operations for Medtronic Surgical Technologies, a division of Medtronic.
Rick is responsible for global field and factory service, technical service, contact centers and the service program management office. In addition to his day job, he oversees the Service Operations Council for all of Medtronic with the goal of improving service across the newly integrated Medtronic and Covidien teams. Over his career, Rick has worked in most business functions directly and enjoys taking a broad multi-functional view of issues and bringing a global mindset to service. He has a passion for continuous improvement and in getting projects across the finish line. Prior to joining Medtronic, he spent 19 years at Datex-Ohmeda/GE Healthcare in the USA and Finland in a variety of positions focused on anesthesia machines and patient monitoring.
His current focus is to further the Medtronic Mission of alleviating pain, restoring health and extending life by improving customer satisfaction, growing the Medtronic service business and developing the next generation of service leaders.
Paula Conlon creates the content for Field Service Medical, where she provides OEMs a place to connect to create a business plan for service and support. Focused on creating networking opportunities for executives in the manufacturing and logistics industry at large, Paula also produces the LogiChem, Retail Delivery, and Consumer Returns programs. Previous to her role at WBR, she produced and marketed conferences in the pharmaceutical industry and worked in a research lab focused on moral and political psychology.
John Danese has built his reputation as a global pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain expert, bringing new capabilities and products to market to address industry-specific needs. A good communicator, John is intrinsically helpful and motivates people to work together efficiently and effectively as a team. His domain knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the Life Sciences industry across technologies and business processes help him in smoothly handling complex customer projects.
Karl Geffken is the Senior Director of Marketing where he leads commercial strategies for Global Services at Medtronic. Karl started his career as a financial analyst at Hewlett-Packard Company. Since then, he has held management positions in finance, business development, sales and marketing while at HP, Agilent Technologies, Smith & Nephew Endoscopy and Medtronic. Karl has been involved in services sales and marketing for 25 years. Karl received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Muhlenberg College and his MBA from Lehigh University; both located in Pennsylvania. He and his family reside in the Boston area.
Graduate of AGH University of Science and Technology, Mariusz has been working for Comarch capital group since 2003. From the beginning of his career, he has focused on software and testing tools development. Since 2006 he was responsible for business development in the area of telecommunication and M2M solutions, e.g. for Nokia. Moving up the career ladder, in 2014 he became the President of Comarch Technologies – the technological branch of Comarch group, where he is responsible for the strategy of business development with a focus on IoT, electronic devices, mobility and cyber security.
Neil McLellan is the Director of Strategy for Medical Platforms and IoT. In his role, Neil drives execution of Wind River’s medical device, security, and IoT connectivity strategy. He joined Wind River from the medical technology industry, where he drove Healthcare IT and connected device projects across multinational corporations including GE Healthcare, KARL STORZ Endoscopy, and Beckman Coulter, Inc. Neil’s functional expertise spans from solutions/integration engineering to product management, and works closely with the engineering, service and field organizations to build Wind River’s connected medical device offering.
Neil holds a bachelor’s degree from Siena College, and has achieved multiple IT industry certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare and others.
Dr. Pankaj Mital spent the last 14 years of his career leading the Commercial Business/IT relationship at Johnson & Johnson, where he drove global IT projects targeted at automating business processes. Some key business projects included: the global implementation of a Field Service Business Data Management system, driver of the ERP and PLM configuration in support of J&J’s re-location of their manufacturing site, and the delivery of an online registration portal for hospitals, resulting in an increased confidence in our products and significant return on our investment.
Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Pankaj spent three years at American Medical Response managing their Patient Business Services department. He also spent nine years of managing an IT company in India as a Technical Director.
Pankaj is very passionate about Project Management and the effective Leadership of his teams.
To support his business acumen Pankaj earned a Doctorate in Business Administration (Organizational Leadership) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI. He received his Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology and Supply Chain., and Bachelors in Technical Management.
Susan Wills is the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Contracts for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. She has been in her current position for five years. Susan has worked as the Director of Materials Management, covering departments such as purchasing, contracts, sterile central, courier, mailroom, print shop, medical equipment management, patient transport, warehouse, receiving and inventory control, for over 25 years in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire community hospitals. Susan has been a member of AHRMM since 1992, has been a CMRP since 2002 and recently received her Fellow status in May 2016. She has served on the AHRMM Educational Committee and has supported the New England Society of Healthcare Materials Management (NESHMM). She currently serves on the NESHMM Educational Committee. Susan is certified in LEAN and has presented at several conferences on supply chain related topics.
